An Underclass View of Poverty and Violence

An Underclass View of Poverty and Violence.

When I was a young child about 13 or 14 I made home deliveries on a bicycle for a corner drug store 3 blocks from home. I also delivered newspapers. In my upper teen and early 20’s there were many job opportunities in the many American businesses and industries nationwide. My mother and father both had jobs and just about anything worth having was made in America. Drug use and gun violence in American cities was never as high or out of control as they are today. There were fewer prisons and criminals. Local businesses and banks supported the common good of the local community. Business owners and bankers earned a small fraction of what is earned today, but everything was cheaper then, Including labor. As businesses grew and merged into corporations and multi-corporate conglamorants driven by the never ending growing profit margins, product cost and labor cost also got higher. In the old days, not so long ago, you could get your milk raw and meat fresh, bread was baked daily all around town. Stock holders and insurance companies were not figured in the cost of health and food or cost of living in every aspect of American life as is today.

After World War Two, America and its allies went to work rebuilding Europe and American Capitalism got refinanced. Americas Military Industrial Complex that fought and won two wars (Japan and Germany) retooled to rebuild Europe and build and transform America. The American Nation building provided jobs for anybody that desired work. There was so much work and building and manufacturing that any and everybody who wanted to work could find a job, with or without an education. Before this time the American people who were not fortunate enough to get a decent job that paid enough to house and feed their love ones, labored to live by any means necessary. It took from the end of World War Two to around the 1980’s to completely rebuild Europe and Japan. America completed the construction of the Interstate Systems nationwide in the 1970’s.

During Nation Building times Americans had a dream. The dream was, if you study and work hard in America, you can work your way from the bottom to the top or at lease live decent and in order. Since 2008 that dream has been destroyed and in 2012 it is being ignored. We are and have been bombarded with mis and dis information since 2008 and at the end of each and every fake crisis we have been saved by a democrat or republican. The economy …, well somebody pull the emergency brakes on the U.S. economy when the current President took office. Job growth in America stops its slow growth and went in reverse nationwide many people suffered and more are suffering still. If these people are helped by the Federal Government with jobs and or unemployment benefits, is that Welfare or socialism? Millions of people without warning found themselves jobless and hopeless for the first time in their lives.

Poverty breeds violence we hold it to be true that all mankind want to and will protect and serve their family by any means necessary. We have enough violence in American society because of the lack of employment. I don’t think the American people can wait until 2013 or 2014 to find jobs. The job creators need to be about creating jobs. I know that job growth will stimulate the economy and possibly help the President’s reelection chance, but it may help millions of Americans in 5 or 10 years.

Because of the new world market, global financing and technology the type and amount jobs are cost and profit driven. It seems the only way Americans can get control over cost and profit and bring jobs and the money back to America is if the new world economy fails.
